ARGHH!! I remember the frustration when I first started recycling at home. Everything seemed overwhelming and we were doing SUCH a bad job at recycling. I suggest that anyone looking at recycling at home start small and create a system; e.g. a series of different bins for different products. That said, we actually started by hanging a plastic bag above our garbage bin to collect soft plastics and our bin system (now stored under the sink for easy access) is only now in place. What did you do? What didn't work?

My go to switch for beginners is to replace your single use water bottle with a reusable one. My favourite is the metal insulated water bottle you can find at Kmart for $6.75. Another suggestion is to start using a keep cup for your coffee and/or tea. My favourite are the cups from 7-Eleven because a) they're made from recycled takeaway cups and b) they're awesome at the dog park because when they're closed and another dog knocks over my cup it very rarely spills!
